What type of dance do you like most?

If you couldn't already tell from what I've written, or the title of this webiste, I am indeed a ballet baby! Although surprisingly enough, I do enjoy a nice sassy jazz dance once in a while...

Modern was never my strong point. I just don't seem to be able to look natural and, well, normal doing it!

03

So... When exactly did you start dancing?

I've always had difficulty on answering this question. I was signed up for my first dance class (ballet and jazz) when I turned five and was attending kindergarden. This studio was one that people attended "just for fun" and didn't really focus much on technique. I stayed at this studio for close to eight years and then moved to a much more serious school last year, which is where I really started my training technically and artistically. You can decide for yourself what you count as starting!

Who are you?

I am a fifteen (almost sixteen) year old girl from New Jersey hoping to find herlself in a ballet company one day, performing on a stage and loving every bit of it. Simple as that.

05

Where do you currently train?

Currently I don't feel too comfortable sharing this information. I attend a local school that would pretty much give away where I lived.

Why did you start this blog?

Writing stuff (a.k.a. my experiences) down really helps sort through the mess in my head. My teachers tell me that I beat myself down too much (I never understood this. I mean there's always something to fix. The teacher can't be on you 24/7), and this sorta helps me relax. So I figured why not share the mess for any other confused and lost ballerina out there, where it might help knowing that they are not the only ones going through this crazy time.
